Type-A Privacy Policy
How the Type-A website and desktop application handle data, system permissions, and local records.
1. General provisions
Individual Entrepreneur Bogdan Igorevich Fomenko, INN 346104066000, OGRNIP 325344300020762, owns the Type-A website and acts as the data controller where described in this Policy.
This Policy applies to https://type-a.ru, the Type-A desktop application, and requests sent to dev@assistgroup.tech or through Telegram.
2. Data that may be processed
- website request data such as IP address, date, user agent, requested URL, and infrastructure diagnostics;
- selected website language and cookie-notice acknowledgement;
- name, contact details, message content, and attachments voluntarily sent by email, Telegram, or GitHub;
- application version, platform, and network request data when checking for updates or downloading models from an external provider.
3. Local processing in the application
Microphone and system audio, recognized text, settings, downloaded models, and transcription history are processed and stored on the user's device by default. Type-A does not send audio or transcripts to Assist Group.
Transcription history is retained locally for three days by default. The user can change the retention period in the application settings or delete records manually. Text is written to the active field or clipboard only according to the user's settings.
4. System permissions
Type-A may request microphone, system-audio or screen capture, global hotkey, accessibility input, clipboard, notification, and autostart permissions. Permissions are managed by the operating system and can be revoked there.
5. Purposes and legal bases
- website operation, language selection, security, and diagnostics;
- responding to voluntary requests and maintaining the open-source project;
- delivering installers, updates, and model files;
- meeting legal obligations and protecting legitimate interests.
6. External services and disclosure
GitHub is used for source code, releases, and updates; Hugging Face and GitHub may host model files. Telegram and email are used only when selected by the user. These providers process network data under their own policies.
Personal data is not sold. It may be disclosed to hosting providers, maintenance contractors, or authorities only where a lawful basis exists.
7. Retention, safeguards, and user rights
Server logs are retained only as technically necessary, correspondence until the request and statutory periods are complete, and local application data until user deletion or automatic history expiry.
Requests for access, correction, blocking, deletion, or consent withdrawal may be sent to dev@assistgroup.tech.
8. Policy changes
The current version is published on this page. Material changes may also be announced on the website or in the project repository.
